I play OA since i think 2009 so i dont know most of the older Players like odigo, bile or stygius
So for me the Best players i know based on my experience in every OA Mod except defrag (havent been much in the defrag scene so i only know stalker for his skills) are:

1. failgun
2. jonas
3. Tod
4. cortex
6. ct (other nicks: cat or dual)
5. grism
6. fo
7. link
8. Prizzle / Adriano
9. Gerbil
10. Helvas / Tony / Karu

A very good upcommer for me is chs/werewolf (admin) he is improving like hell. He made biiig steps in duel and he got quite some good skills in CA and CTF. Monster would be also a contender for the 10th place. the way he plays is just insane sometimes, he can read his opponent so well .. sad he doesnt play duel, he could be really good in it

So the most impressive player for me for the past couple of years was definatly failgun with his impressive aim, followed by me and Tod. Tod improved so much, it's very nice to watch him playing, awesome aim and movement
I put myself on the 2nd place, might be a bit arrogant for others but im sure if you followed the game the past 2-3 years you will know why. If you wonder why names like Joki dont appear on the list its simply cuz i dont know how high his level was in 2007 but the last time i played him he was simply not that impressive to me.

i can't judge old player because i started playing around december 2009...but i saw fo, jonas, tod, karu, joki, cortex, stoner, failgun and other but who impressed me a lot was tony in 2010(or 2011?..before he stopped to play)..in my opinion he was the best, his skills was amazing ...

OMG I'm so ashamed about having forgot Chr!S (ampii) !!!!! For me he's easy in top-4 players I met from my beggining.

I would mension Optimus in top-20, but in top-10, here... When I see Optimus pwning only on ONE mod, 3 or 4 maps, I'm not sure he can be considered as top-10 players of all the time.

And, anyway, I think we all think Optimus is really skilled player just from all the +2000 OpenArena players from 2006, there is really skilled 75-100 players !! Here we are talking about who are really the bests, two different things

hmm i have never seen tod in other gm than in ctf except league... and he is 3rd on jonas list but it is your feeling so i respect it...

Tod just pwned on Defrag competitions and do some world run records, and he was first for several CA matches in 2010 for supeR,Bots. But, nevermind, if you never seen tod in other gm... what can I say ?

I play since 2007 imo (but truly got into oa with the 0.80 release, however i played 0.71 and 0.76 too) and there were some players who amazed me.

First of all i have to mention a guy U namedPlayer. Never said a word, but played quite well on public servers.

Ivan. Yea, he was a nice guy and a very skilled player.

xnonix have to be mentioned, =SC= was rising mostly cuz of him.

From America ^brutalodigo, RoOsterand Ragnarok seemed pretty awesome. However i played only a few games with them.

Some j9 guys had impressive skills too, but i dont think i can consider them among the bests.

Grism, yea dat guy. my first oa-cl match was vs supeR. (good old 20 fps times) in the 2nd game he joined and pwned us just easily.

Also, Adriano is a complete player for me. Has good aim, good weapon usage, cold game strategy, map usage, etc etc. Noticed his potential back when he was in clan Var.

Other players who are needed to be mentioned: SteveFox, zumz, Freze, Helvas and dzifka( pwned my in my very first game xd) and [uM] barret ( this guy, baaaah.)
